My guess is that what I love about it (the super niche language, the over the top greediness & unlikeability of the characters, the satirization of the billionaire takeover that hits too close to home) is what most people hate. The first time I watched it, I got the general idea fine enough. But the writer in me wanted to get every single Silicon Valley reference. Translation: He is pitching a kind of tech-utopian fix for struggling nations—replacing traditional governments or financial systems with decentralized, blockchain-based alternatives. “Crypto-network states” = countries or communities run partly or wholly on crypto infrastructure.
Ven: That is where this goes. Creative destruction. Arab Spring.
Translation: Ven is implying that backing crypto-network states could spark major political upheaval—like Arab Spring which used social media and digital tools to overthrow authoritarian regimes—but sees that as a necessary part of “creative destruction” (an economics term meaning you have to destroy outdated systems to create better ones, which is used often in tech/venture circles).
